Magazine Advert.
At first I researched Magazine adverts to see what they include as well as what effects and styles are used to attract the attention of the audience. I then created a plan on some A4 paper of what I would like my magazine advert to look like and gathered feedback on it. After looking at my feedback I decided to use an image of my band so the target audience can see the genre of the music from the way they dress. Another thing that I didnt have in before was the 5 star ratings from newspapers which can also attract the target audience.
DigiPack.
When researching into digipacks I found out the obvious things such as the band name and song on the cover as well as the songs within the album tend to be on the back. However I also found out that some use pictures of the artists within the digipack. So when coming up with my plan I decided to continue with the beach theme throughout and have a picture of my band members inside. Also in my plan i had a picture of some arcade games, however in my feedback I found out that it my not go with the other images and wouldn't continue the beach theme.
When researching into music videos I found that a narrative would work better than a performance because when watching a performance the viewer can get bored of seeing the same thing so I decided to do a narrative.
I created a rough cut of my music video and showed it to my class mates, friends and family and found out a few things to improve for my final cut.
- Smooth cuts between clips
- Dont have clips with my shadow in
- Dont use clips where my actor looks at the camera
- Include a close up of actor eating ice cream
